Ali Alavi came to America in 1995 as an international student. He wrote The Autumn of Traces and Enchantment when he was a graduate student at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. He is currently an academic chairperson. Currently, he divides his time between his profession and writing and has recently completed his second novel. He lives in Washington, D.C.
